In a traditional ERP system, every product variant, even if it differs only in dimension, must have its own unique identification number, called an index. This approach, while simple, leads to absurdity in industries with high product variability. Imagine a massive warehouse containing 3,500 to 4,000 unique elements. In a standard system, each of these elements would need its own separate index. This means thousands, or even hundreds of thousands of entries to manage, which leads to chaos and makes the system inefficient. At Gardens-Software, we think differently. Our system does not create thousands of indexes, but one object that is fully configurable. Thanks to this, we can retain all product characteristics, regardless of its parameters. For systems supporting the management of company resources and processes, the most important feature is not the software's ability to cover all functional needs at the moment. The most important feature is the ability to maintain and further develop this software in the unknown future. That is, the ability to realize functional needs at any time, even long after the system implementation. It also allows for covering 100% of the functional requirements of the software at any time of the ERP system's life. It also allows for maintaining the system by changing consultants, thanks to the fact that the programming language is high-level and specially developed for the ERP application.

Research and development

The result of the development work is the preparation and development of the company's proprietary solutions. These include, among others, systems dedicated to Gardens ERP and solutions extending the standard GERP system in selected areas.

As a result of the implementation of the GamSmart project, co-financed by EU funds and carried out in cooperation with scientists from the Poznań University of Technology, a new method of manufacturing and adapting ERP class software was developed. It is based on the fact that there is no single standard software model, but there can be a large set of solutions from which functional elements can be completed to detail using the built-in and specially prepared ERP system development environment.

We have introduced a new, technologically perfected product to the market, aimed particularly at the SME sector – more cost-effective, adapted to the needs of recipients, and characterized by high quality. The new ERP system is the result of R&D work carried out within the framework of the project "GAMSmart – development of innovative technology for the manufacturing and development of ERP class software, ensuring agile, fast, and flexible preparation, implementation, and development of the system adapted to the target requirements and specifics of a given enterprise," implemented under the Wielkopolska Regional Operational Program for 2014 – 2020 on the business and science line.
